Hootenanny

No my family isn't have a big old Hootenanny, although we have had a few in my life time. No I'm going to show you a layout I made with a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs and it is called Hootenanny. I love the name, and the kit is just too cute. Bright colors and fun elements make this a great kit for almost any type of layout.

My layout is Cooper in one of my favorite photos of him. He is shaggy and needs a hair cut, but he just looks so cute. I love the mix of pink, purple, blue and green in this kit. I had a hard time choosing which color to make my primary because the were all so cool. And Bethany put some really fun word tags in like the one I used that said "It's Owl Right".

Hootenanny is on sale this week, so head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up soon. I have a major backlog of layouts to show you, so my plan is to try and blog at least 4 times over the holiday weekend, so make sure you come back and see everything I've done. Plus I hear there are going to be lots of Black Friday Sales, so check back and I'll let you know what I know about the sales.

Autumn Memories

Happy Fall Ya'll, today I'm going to show you layouts made with Scrappin' Daisies new kit called Autumn Memories. It is a perfect kit for your fall photos and so much more.

My first layout features Tucker and Cooper at the local pumpkin patch. They didn't like the patch much, because we separated them to try and get photos and they wanted to be together. I love all the leaves in this kit, they are just so beautiful.

My second layout is Mecca and Callie on Mother's day. I used a photo treatment called colorized and I really like the effect it has. The kit is so versatile it will work for so many types of layout.

Autumn Memories is on sale this week so make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up while it is 25% off. I hope to be back tomorrow with more.

Simple Elegance & Please Vote for Me

Happy Saturday all, I'm going to show you a wonderful new kit by Scappin' Daisies Design called Simple Elegance. I'm a member of her team in the Battle of the Creative Teams over at DSA and this week we had to do a monochrome layout. She whipped this kit up for us to use...isn't she great!!!! We wanted to use a cream and she added touches of brown for when it went into the store. But since I've mentioned the contest at DSA I will ask you to please vote for Scrappin' Daisies and you can Vote Here.

My first layout is the one I did for the contest. We had to either trade photos or scrap about ourselves, and we chose to to ourselves. Well those of you who know me, know that was a challenge for me. I don't like layouts of me. But I did it, and I even included my favorite fur baby Tucker.

My second layout is one I really love, both because it has one of my favorite subjects and because I think it turned out so well. I did get a text from Callie this week, she saw the layout I posted last week with her on the potty, she wasn't thrilled, but she took it like a champ. She is beautiful and gracious too!!!

Ok Simple Elegance is on sale this week so make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up soon. Also don't forget to vote for Scrappin' Daisies at DSA (Vote Here). I'll be back with more great stuff this week.

Kaden & Please Please Vote for Me

Happy Saturday all, I'm here today begging for votes. Ok maybe I'm going to show you a new release too, but first is please vote for the Scrappin' Daisies team in the DSA Battle of the creative teams. My team and I really worked hard on our entries and I would love any vote I could get. To vote simply CLICK HERE, it is a simple poll you don't have to register or anything, and of course you're picking Scappin' Daisies!!!!! Thanks so much.

Well now for the new release by Scappin' Daisies. It wasn't scheduled to be released until next week, but we all loved the kit so much we used it in our layouts for the contest (yes all of us used the same kit). The kit's name is Kaden after one of my fellow CT member's son. Some photos of him were the inspiration for the kit. I have to say this is one of my all time favorites, I love the greens and the elements are just wonderful.

My first layout is the one I did for the DSA contest. We had to scraplift two of our fellow team members, and pick either today, yesterday or tomorrow as our word to use as a title. We picked today and I used pictures of Watson...who is Watson you might ask, because I don't think you've seen pictures of him before. Well he is Callie's new baby...dog, bet I had your mind racing then. He is a full blooded German Shepard that is expected to reach about 100 lbs.

My second layout is of Cole and the photo was take after my grandmother's funeral. He was so cute in his suit. Of course these days dressed up means a tie...amazing what a few years can do.

Kaden is a wonderful kit and you should head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up this week while it is on sale. And don't forget to Vote Here.

So Much to Show You

Ok this is going to be another huge post, because I'm creating layouts much faster than I am posting here, so they are getting backed up something fierce. Today the layouts are going to be from various places, but most will be challenges I've done.

I'm going to start off with one that has been in my backlog forever, I did it as a speed scrap over at GingerScraps and never showed it to you. I think because the subject is giraffes and not someone I know. I got the photos when Sharla, Cole and I went up to Arbuckle Wilderness one year on Christmas break.

Yeah my oldest non published layout is off of my to show list. Next up is a layout I did with Modern June's portion of the August Build a Kit at Digital Scrapbook Mania. I love the colors in the kit. The photo is Zoey giving Sharla kisses.

Next up is one I did for Stuff to Scrap's Word of the Week Challenge. The work was lazy and I knew right away what photo I wanted to use, Sharla and Cooper "napping". This is Let's Get Together by Scrap N Pieces, and I love this kit.

I'm on a roll with my older layouts, so here is another one I did for a speed scrap at DSM. It features Tucker Joe watching while I get ready for work. He much prefers the days when I stay home, because he likes to have someone to lay down with him. This I used is called Dusty Rose by Modern June.

Now for a layout I did for a font challenge at Polka Dot Plum. The kit is Monkeying Around by Victoria Feemster and as soon as I saw it, I knew I would use a photo of Sharla. Daddy called her Monkey, all of her life, even when she was grown, so of course I had to use her.

I did the next layout for the Use it or Lose it challenge at Stuff to Scrap. They give you a mini kit and you have to use all of it on your layout. Sometimes this is easy and sometimes it is not. I like this one because there were not too many papers and elements.

Modern June's contribution to the September Build a Kit at DSM was beautiful and I really enjoyed using it for this layout. The photo is Callie opening her birthday present several years ago, it was just what she wanted...you can tell by the look on her face.

This layout I'm sure looks a little odd, but the challenge was to photograph a body part (no face or head shots allowed). So I did Zoey's big feet. Bless her princess heart she had whopper feet!!!. The I used is Lil Fella by Graham Like the Cracker and Wyld Web Designs.

Next up is a layout I did for a color challenge. It was birthday month at PDP and all the challenges were focusing on birthdays and so I did one of Cole after we silly stringed him. This was when he was in the 6th grade, after his school concert. We had him believing we were not going to be able to get him because there was too much going on...fooled him!!!

Another birthday challenge was the one word challenge and you had to use the word "celebrate" in your title or journaling. So again I pick Cole and silly string, but this one was from this year. It is getting harder and harder to surprise the boy (ok he's 17 but still a boy to me). But I think we got him this year. Hid our car in his garage and then we hid in his dad's shop. Both of these layouts were made with Kalo's Designs kit called Celebrate.

I rarely do two page layouts, not really sure why. I didn't really do them when I paper scrapped, so I don't do them when I digi scrap. But there was a template challenge at PDP that was a two pager. I used a kit by Sir Scrapsalot called Spring Symphony and the photos were taken at a local iris garden. I love irises and this place has some really beautiful ones.

Now for a layout I did with Secret Stash's Happy in my Heart kit. The photos are Cooper a couple of days before he was to be groomed. He was definitely a fuzzy face. It didn't help that he had been rolling in the grass, so his hair was sticking out on end. This was a template challenge and I really like how it looks.

I know many of you think the greatest contribution to the world in 1960 was me...yeah I know I'm old. The all about me challenge had us pull things that happened the year we were born. I think my favorite things were Green Eggs and Ham was written and the Etch-a-Sketch was invented...yeah I'm not an overly political person. But it was fun looking up different facts.

Ok the last one for this post is a layout I almost didn't do. I was to post on Scrappin' Daisies blog on a Monday, which is free day and I couldn't figure out what to post. I was going through the challenges at Brownie Scraps and found the indulgence challenge. I loved the mini kit they gave us to use. And in a very short time I had this layout of Tucker.

That is it for now but I have designers releasing kits almost everyday this week, so there will definitely be more to see (plus a freebie on Friday). See ya'll soon.

Terror-ific

Ohhhh it is getting close to that spooky time of year. I have to say I've never been one that liked the scary side of Halloween, I'm much more the fun side. Today I'm going to show you some layouts I made with Scrappin' Daisies' new kit called Terror-ific. It is a wonderful Halloween kit full of fun elements and great papers.

The first layout I did is of Trey and Callie, and talk about old I think Callie is 2 in this one, so that would make it about 20 years old....ohhh how did time fly by so fast. I love that is kit has all kinds of little goblin stickers.

My next layout is of Cole when he was an Army Man. He was so cute in his camo and with his painted up face. And of course he was ready to shoot anyone and everyone.

This kit is packed with great stuff, and this week it is 25% off, so make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Terror-ific soon.

Big Boy Now/Big Girl Now

Happy Tuesday all, today I'm going to show you a couple of layouts I made with two new kits by Scrappin' Daisies Designs. The kits are Big Boy Now and Big Girl Now and they are bike kits. I love these kits, they are just perfect for all of bike photos, plus so much more.

My first layout is Trey and he is playing with a stationary bike of Mom's. He loved turning the pedals and making the wheel spin. I love the bright colors in this kit, and it includes all kinds of great elements.

My second layout is Callie on her bike. She was having a great time riding at Mom and Dad's because they had sidewalks. I love that the girls kit is pinks and purples, because that is the color of most little girl's bikes.

So head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Big Boy Now or Big Girl Now or if you need both you can get Big Boy/Girl Now Bundle, and all are on sale this week for 25% off. I promise to be back later with more layouts.

You should head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Ele-Fun this week because it is on sale for 25% off this week only. I'll be back later to show you more layouts...also make sure you check out Scrappin Daisies Design's Blog she has a freebie from the kit there today and I'll be posting one for you there on Thursday.

My 4 Sons

Nope I've not adopted 4 boys, but I am going to show you layouts made with a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies called My 4 Sons. It is a wonderful boys kit, but really so much more. Rich colors and great elements make this kit useful for all kinds of layouts.

Both of my layouts feature Cole today...who else would I use for a boy kit, ok knowing me it could have been anyone, but I did use Cole. This first one is Daddy try to measure how tall Cole was. The photo wasn't dated, but I'm guessing he was about three or four. Daddy was still flexible enough to get down on the floor and still get up again...hehehe. I love the orange/teal/brown colors in this kit.

My second layout is a couple of years later. Sharla snapped this one when he looked over his shoulder and flashed her his big smile. I love that even though it is a boys kit, it has flowers.

So head over to Brownie Scraps this week and pick up My 4 Sons because it is 25% off this week.

Me N My Girl

Ok it is Wednesday and if you've not noticed it is my third post this week, I'm definitely on a roll...hehehe. Today I'm going to show you a couple of layouts I made with a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs called Me N My Girl. It a great kit with a nice mix of colors that could be used for boys or girls, but it leans a little more towards the girls.

My first layout is Tom and Callie, and it is one of my most favorite pictures of them. He is holding her and she is on top of the world. I tried to pull the pink and green from the photo into the layout, and I think it worked well. I love the flowers in this kit.

My next layout is Callie again, the photo was taken after her hair straightened, which she loves. The kit has the cutest bead alpha that was fun to use.

Make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Me N My Girl soon because it is on sale this week.

Boys and Crawly Things

It is Wednesday to everyone else in the world, but today is my Monday and it has been a Monday!!! But I would rather be busy than bored, and that has been the case today. In fact I had planned on blogging last night, but I just couldn't get myself to do it, so I thought I would blog this morning and still nothing, but I'm ready now, not really, but close enough. Today I'm going to show you pages made with a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs called Boys and Crawly Things and it is such a fun kit. She does a great job of giving you themed items and a mix of "standard" things so you can do lots of different things with her kits.

The first layout is Cole when he was in the third grade. He performed in a talent show, where he did a karate routine to the song "Still in Saigon" by Charlie Daniels. He wore a muscle suit. It was the cutest thing!!!!

The second layout about Cooper. A former co-worker had a birthday party for her dog and invited Cooper and Tucker. When we got there, the boys they were a little freaked by by all the people and dogs. Cooper shot across the room and jumped in the lap of a stranger. I think he just wanted to see out the window, and luckily everyone there was a dog person.

Make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Boys and Crawly Things because it is only sale this week.

Lazy Daisy

Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying the hot July weather...well it is hot here. Hot enough that I decided to chop my hair off, so did Sharla...we had the girls at Super Cut just laughing because we were egging each other on to do it. I'd say I would show you a picture, but I don't like pictures of me. Maybe later. Right now I'm here to show you a very pretty new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs called Lazy Daisy. I love the the yellows and greens, they are perfect for so many different types of layouts.

My first layout is Tom, Mecca, Callie and Cole taken on Mom's birthday several years ago. You can tell that the photo is old because Cole isn't taller than everyone else (he is now).

My second layout is Zoey, taken last weekend. We were in the backyard and Zoey just came up to me and was watching me. I thought she might have brought a me a toy, but no, she was just watching me, so I snapped her picture. I love the daisies in the kit, and I thought they looked so good with the yellow paper.

Be back later with more.

Stars & Stripes / Canada Eh?

Happy Wednesday all, I'm here to show you two new kits by Scrappin' Daisies Designs called Stars & Stripes and Canada Eh?, so you can celebrate Independence Day in both the US and Canada. I love both of these kits, Stars & Stripes has a rustic country feel and is really bright and cheery.

My first layout is Sharla taken right before the fireworks a couple of years ago. I think this may have been one of the last years we went out and saw fireworks, because Cooper gets so scared, we now stay home and try to help him threw the night.

My second layout is Cole at his Pass and Review this year. He is the commander of the Color Guard, and I'm very proud of him. Of course on the other hand, I noticed that they have given him a sword...I'm not sure this is a good thing (hehehe).

Next up is a layout made with Canada Eh?. It has some great elements to fit Canada, but I'm not from Canada, so I had to adapt. This is a photo of a friend's son who does roller hockey. I needed some hockey pics so Sharla and I went to one of his games. It was lots of fun to watch.

The next layout is Cooper. I loved all the reds in the kit, so I decided to do a layout that would highlight them, and I just had to use the maple syrup element.

You should head over to Brownie Scraps this week and pick up Stars & Stripes and Canada Eh? this week because they are on sale.

Little Trouble

No I'm not talking about the dogs, although they could definitely be called trouble. No Little Trouble is a bright fun kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs that is perfect for layouts of your little troublemakers.

The first layout was taken a few years ago and is Sharla, Trey and Cole. They all look so young, even Sharla (hehehe, she is going to slap me). I love the combination of lime green, orange and deep teal, and those colors worked perfectly with this photo.

My second layout shows how much the boys have grown, it is Trey and Cole take two years ago. It still amazes me that they have grown up so fast...I know it has been years, but it doesn't seem like it. I love the circle element, it is made of "man tape". Man tape is what used to call duct tape.

So you should head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Little Trouble this week while it is on sale for 35% off. And make sure to come back later because I have more to show you this week.

Betty Days

Good Tuesday morning all. I'm here to show you a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs that she created in honor of her husband's Grandmother, but could easily been created for me. It is called Betty Days and is packed with purples, greens and creams. The kit contains 20 papers and over 50 elements, all simply beautiful.

My first layout is Mecca with Callie and Cole on Mother's Day. I love how those kids tend to lay on you rather than next to you as you can see in these pictures. And you can see that Mecca is very used to it. I used more of the creams in this layout with touches of purple and green, and I love the flowers in the kit.

My second layout is Mecca and MawMaw on Mother's day. It is so hard to get a good picture of Mecca, not because she is not beautiful but because she closes her eyes in almost every picture. Luckily we got a couple of good ones on this day. I love the colors in this kit, they really look so good together.

So you need to head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Betty Days soon.

Protect and Serve / Saving Lives

Yes it is two more kits by Scrappin' Daisies Design and they are Protect and Serve, a police kit and Saving Lives, a paramedic kit. Both are just so much fun, and she put lots things in the kit, so they can be used for lots of different types of layouts.

I'll start with Protect and Serve and my first layout is Cole with his little police "car". I love the picture of him aiming his gun at Sharla, he thought it was so funny.

My second layout is Tucker and Cooper...my protectors. I love the flowers in this kit, I just had to use them. The colors in this kit are blue, black, grey and yellow, which work for so much more.

Next is Saving Lives which is a fun kit, but I really struggled for photos to go with it. Then I remembered a couple that were perfect. The first is our family healer Nurse Callie, and she is checking out solider boy Cole. Ok maybe the date was October 31st (hehehe).

My second layout is Daddy in the hospital several years ago. He had COPD and they wanted him to wear oxygen, but it never seemed to be in his nose, it was always on his upper lip. Sharla just couldn't resist snapping a picture of it.

So head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Protect and Serve or Saving Lives soon. But if you want the best deal then you should get the Heroes Bundle which includes Protect and Serve, Saving Lives and her previous release Stop, Drop and Roll.

Adorably Tough

I know you think I'm talking about Callie, with a title like Adorably Tough, but I'm not. It is a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs. This kit can be used for your not so girly girls, as well as the girly girls. It is filled with 25 papers and over 40 total elements, including 2 complete alphas, and the colors rock!

My first layout is Angela, and she is actually sitting on Samuel and Tina, but I chopped them out of the picture. I love the way she is smiling, it just makes me smile. I really like the combination of bright pink with teal and black.

My second layout is about my Adorably Tough Tucker Joe. He looks grumpy in the photo, but I that is normal when the camera comes out (he doesn't like the flash). I do love the folded ribbon element in this kit, but I also like that I can do both girl and boy layouts with it.

Make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Adorably Tough soon. That is it for today, be sure to check back because Saturday is NSD - National Scrapbook Day and lots of things will be going on at different stores and blogs including here. I'm going to participate in my first blog train.

Stop, Drop and Roll

No the building isn't on fire, but you might think so when you see the layouts I've made with Scappin' Daisies Designs' new kit called Stop, Drop and Roll. It is all things firefighter, and perfect to scrap those trips to the fire station, or pictures of your little fireman or a firefighter lover. It is packed full with 25 Papers, 30+ Unique Elements including 2 complete alphas.

Going through my photos, I didn't come across many fireman photos, but just so happens Sharla went with Cole somewhere the other night and pass a really cool old fire truck. So she and I went back and got some photos of it for my first layout. It was in great shape, except for the pollen covering it, but it is spring time in Texas. I really loved the elements in this kit, they are just too cute.

My second layout is called "Fire Dog" and it is a photo of Tucker...wait he is not a fire dog, but he could be...well maybe not, but he would love to ride on the truck. Because he loves to ride anywhere, anytime. He prefers if we let him hang his head out the window. I couldn't resist the hydrant element next to his picture, although he really could care less about them.

You need to head over to Brownie Scraps this week and pick up Stop, Drop and Roll this week. It is on sale for 35% off through Sunday. And I'll be back later in the week with more.
