September Layouts

I cannot believe that September is almost over, why is time passing so fast??? Am I getting old....DON'T answer that!!!!!  Well September has been a busy month, so far we've made progress on getting the floors replaced, if all goes well it will happen in two weeks.  We also have a new addition to the family.  Yes Cole has adopted a puppy, aka Hollywood.  He has boundless energy, much more than any of the people or other dogs in the house.  Hopefully I will get some good pictures of him soon and ya'll can see him.

Now this month I did do some layouts, so let me show them to you.  First is one I did using September Templatetopia by North Meets South Studios as well as Apples for Teacher Value Bundle and Sunshine Day both by Trixie Scraps Designs.  The photos are of Tucker and his new blankie, and that mean Cooper who insisted on sharing it with him.

Next up is a layout I did using Picture a Family by Trixie Scraps.  The kit was part of the September 2013 Scrap Pack available at Scrap Stacks.  The photos are Callie and Watson, one from when she first got him and one a little more recent.  He has definitely grown into a big boy.

Next up I did a layout using Autumn Spice by Trixie Scraps Designs, Designs by Connie Prince and Aprilisa Designs.  The kit was created as part of the September Art Social Kit for MSA.  The photo is of Callie and Sharla.  It was taken several years ago, but is one of my favorite photos of the two of them.

And last but not least is a layout using New Kid in Class Value Bundle by Trixie Scraps Designs. The photo is something I rarely use, and that is a photo of me.  Yeah that cute chipmunk cheeked girl is me.  We won't talk about how many years ago it was!!!!

I have to say I love all of these kits, so if I were you I would pick them up right away!!!!  For other great kits be sure to check out Trixie Scraps Designs Store.

Slumber Party

Happy Happy Thursday all, today the high is only supposed to be in the 70s and it rained for just a little bit, man that makes me smile. After a long summer of 100+ temps, I am so ready for Fall. But enough about me, today I am here to show you a layout I made with a wonderful new kit by JennCK Designs called Slumber Party. It is the girl's match to Sleep Over and a wonderful kit. The colors are pinks and yellows, and it is packed full of flowers and you know I love me some flowers. She has even created an add-on Slumber Party Paper Flowers that you can get for free with the purchase of the kit if you buy before October 15th (so hurry!!!!).

The layout I did also uses her Modern Templates Vol. 1 and is something you don't see very often here. Yes it is a layout that actually has a picture of me on it (hehehe). Well one photo is me and one is Callie and we're wearing her dress-up clothes. Well I'm wearing the veil and fur wrap, and she is wearing the veil and white dress. She loved to dress up even as a little girl and still loves it today!!!!
So make sure you head over to Scrapbook Bytes and pick up Slumber Party before October 15th so you can get the paper flowers for free!!!!!

Combing The Beach

Hi all, I hope everyone is having a great Friday. I'm here to show you a couple of layouts I made with a kit by Growing Pains Scrapped called Combing The Beach. It is perfect for your beach/lake photos and so much more. A wonderful color combination and great elements make this an easy kit to use and enjoy.

My first layout is Cole on the beach at Nags Head, NC. I used lots of the beachy elements and I really love the surf board. When going through my photos looking for a beach one, I really wanted to go back to the beach, and just relax for a while. But unfortunately that's not going to happen anytime soon.

My second layout is Tom, Sharla, Ira, Hazelene and I and the photo was taken several years ago when they drove down to Texas for a visit. I will say I don't remember a time when the group of us got together that we didn't have a good time. I did this layout to show ya'll that the kit can be used for so much more than just beach photos.

Ok you should head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Combing The Beach soon. And I mean real soon because it is on sale for 40% off until May 8th, a really great deal!!

Happy Saturday

Ok if this works I will be able to get caught up on showing ya'll lots of layouts. I'm trying to use the slideshow feature of photobucket. I've loaded all of the layouts I've been doing for Trixie Scraps (since I got the idea from her blog). I think there are about 30 layouts in the mix. It is so much easier than loading one layout at a time. If it works, then I'll try and do more of my challenge layouts this way and maybe I'll get caught up again (hehehe). We can only hope.

All the products for the layouts in the slide show are created by Trixie Scraps and can be found in her store.

Simple Elegance & Please Vote for Me

Happy Saturday all, I'm going to show you a wonderful new kit by Scappin' Daisies Design called Simple Elegance. I'm a member of her team in the Battle of the Creative Teams over at DSA and this week we had to do a monochrome layout. She whipped this kit up for us to use...isn't she great!!!! We wanted to use a cream and she added touches of brown for when it went into the store. But since I've mentioned the contest at DSA I will ask you to please vote for Scrappin' Daisies and you can Vote Here.

My first layout is the one I did for the contest. We had to either trade photos or scrap about ourselves, and we chose to to ourselves. Well those of you who know me, know that was a challenge for me. I don't like layouts of me. But I did it, and I even included my favorite fur baby Tucker.

My second layout is one I really love, both because it has one of my favorite subjects and because I think it turned out so well. I did get a text from Callie this week, she saw the layout I posted last week with her on the potty, she wasn't thrilled, but she took it like a champ. She is beautiful and gracious too!!!

Ok Simple Elegance is on sale this week so make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up soon. Also don't forget to vote for Scrappin' Daisies at DSA (Vote Here). I'll be back with more great stuff this week.

Splitsville and Making the Grade

No, I'm not splitting up with anyone, I'm going to show you some layouts made with a new template pack by Modern June called Splitsville. It is available at DSM and Scrapables. And since I somehow missed blogging out her new kit from last week, I'm also going to show you her collab called Making the Grade.

First is one of the templates from Splitsville. I used a photo of Tom and Mom from Mother's Day and a kit called Girly Girl from Mandy Made Digi Bits. You know pictures of Tom just scream girly girl (hehehe. I love this set of templates because it uses paper in a way I don't normally use, so it really inspired me to do something different.

My second layout is Sharla and Cooper doing what they love to do, snuggling, cuddling, etc. I used a kit from Valerie N Designs called Oodles and Burst because I love the colors. And again the template splits the paper which I think is so cool.

Ok now for Making the Grade which is a collab by Modern June and Miss Mis Designs. I was supposed to blog about these last week, but I forgot. The kit is available at both DSM and Scrapables. My first layout is Callie reading. She was really into the book and took it with her out to feed Jake and stopped to sit on a trailer and read.

My second layout is my first grade photo, yes a picture of me. I love the papers in this kit, and the elements are just too cute (don't you love the crayolas)

That is it for today, just make sure you pick up Making the Grade and Splitsville. And I'll be back later with more layouts.

Ele-Fun

Hi all, today I'm going to show you a layout I made with Scrappin' Daisies new kit called Ele-Fun and I love this kit. Of course I love elephants, and this kit has some fun elephant elements in it. I only did one layout with it so far, but I'm betting I use it a lot in the future.

You should head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Ele-Fun this week because it is on sale for 25% off this week only. I'll be back later to show you more layouts...also make sure you check out Scrappin Daisies Design's Blog she has a freebie from the kit there today and I'll be posting one for you there on Thursday.

Another Catch Up Day

Ok today I'm going to show you some pages I've been creating for Victoria Feemster. She has so many great kits out right now. She is currently selling at Gotta Pixel, Scrapbook Bytes and SugarHill Co. and creating great things.

My first layout is using her kit called Eternally and features Sharla and Zoey. I love the colors in this kit, and although is might be a "love" type kit, it can be used for so much more.

Next is a photo of Tina, Liz, Gail, Linda and I on Tina's wedding day. It was so much fun catching up with old friends, although we didn't get to spend much time with Tina...she was just a little busy (hehehehe). The kit I used is called Friends Forever and I also used one of her Monthly Frames.

Victoria has the cutest kit called Lullaby that is just precious. I used it to create a layout featuring Cole. He was just learning to crawl and we decided to give him some incentive. He was such a cute baby.

I've worked with some fun kits, but I have to say that Slurpy Facials and the matching Slurpy Facials Word Art have been some of the funniest. There is just something silly about them that makes me smile. Since you won't find cheerleader photos of me anywhere, I used some of Angela taken a couple of years ago when she cheered for Upwards.

The next kit I'm going to show is called Sweet Serenity and is a great mix of green, blue and orange. I used Cole making a silly face...I know you're shocked that I have a photo of him doing something like that, but I got lucky and caught it...hehehehe.

Ok we're close to the end, next is a layout that features no one...yeah it has a photo on it, but not of people. The layout is called Gotta Have and it features thing I carry around with me every day. The kit was called Unordinary Girl, but she has not released it since moving stores. I loved the colors in it.

And last for today, but by no means least is her latest kit which is available at Scrapbook Bytes called Sweet Treats and is a bright cheerful kit. I used a photo of the boys getting their favorite summer treat, ice cream.

Well that's it for today. I've got a million things to do today, but you should head over to one of Victoria's stores and check out all of her cool kits.

More Layouts

Ok, I have lots to show you today, and it is a mixed bag of things, but I'm trying really hard to get caught up on showing ya'll everything I've done. It has been a slow couple of weeks, the heat is taking a toll and by the time I get home, I'm just not good for nothing. But I have a stock pile that I need to get through.

I'll start with the four challenges I did for the DSM Summer Getaway. I didn't win....poor poor me...but I did win a prize for one of the workshops I showed you a couple of weeks ago. So that was fun. The first challenge had to be about vacation, your favorite from the past, your favorite place to go, etc. I chose our vacation from 2000 where we all went to Nags Head. The pictures were taken from the top of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. In the photos are Sharla, Mecca, Callie, Cole, Kathy, Hazelene and me. It was a hard climb, but the view was worth it.

The second challenge was to do a layout about ice cream, it could be anything about ice cream. Sharla and I decide to get pictures of the babies eating ice cream. And boy do they like ice cream. I had totally completed my page when I realized it looked almost exactly like the page I had done for the previous challenge, so I redid it totally. I like both, so I thought I would show you both.
First Pass

Second Try

The next challenge was to do a layout based on summer song. I really struggled with this one, because I just couldn't pick a song. If I liked the song, I couldn't come up with photos to use with it. I finally decided on my current favorite song, which is American Honey by Lady Antebellum. And I picked Callie to be the subject. I really like this layout.

The last challenge was very hard because they gave you no direction except to use as many of the skills you learned in the workshops as possible. I chose a series of photos of Cole. I got to use selective coloring, extraction, clustering, white space, shadows, and journaling.

So that completes my layouts for the Summer Getaway. I also did a scraplift challenge for July at DSM. I used CT Appreciate Week 2010 collaboration kit and a photo of Cole and Danni. They had come over for dinner and he was messing with her and she was giving as good as she got (you go Danni!!!!). It was so much fun just watching them horse around.

Ok next up is a layout I did for the Use It or Lose It challenge at Stuff to Scrap. Digi-designs by Nicole created this mini kit and it was a lot of fun to use. I found an old picture of Callie and thought it matched the kit perfectly.

Next is one I did for the Color Challenge at Stuff to Scrap. You can pick lots of mini kits and use them or you can use any kit that matches the colors chosen for that month. I used several of the minis to create this layout of Tucker. I really love the color combination and this photo.

During CT Appreciation Week, they had lots of challenges and speed scraps and games. I did a speed scrap lead by Mandy of Mandy Made Digi Bits and created a fun layout of Mr. Cooper Bob. It was hard for me because it had been a while since I did a speed scrap and getting it done in time was a lot of pressure, but I liked the results. I used Stars and Stripes by Scrappin' Daisies Designs.

Ok the last one for today was my entry into the White Space Challenge at CT Appreciation Week. The photo is Sharla and I taken in 2006 and the kit is the collab given away during the week. The kit is just amazing and is just packed with great stuff.

Ten layouts, that helps reduce the backlog quite a bit, but I still have more. So hopefully I'll be back soon with more.

Polka Dot Plum Day

Ok it's going to be another hold onto your seats post today. I'm going to show you all of the Polka Dot Plum layouts I've been doing this month (or maybe the last two months). I know I should blog more often so they don't have to be so long, but it has been a hectic month, and it looks like August is going to be busy too. So just sit back and enjoy the layouts.

The first layout is Sharla and Callie and the kit used is Cloud Dancing by NBK Designs. I was asked to do a couple of pages with this kit when she first started at PDP, it is a cool kit, but I don't have many dancing pictures, so I had to adapt.

Next is the same kit, Cloud Dancing, but this time I do have a dancing photo. I found it on my hard drive and it Angela at a dance program. I think Tina had me copy them for her and it was still on my drive, so I used it. I did a little recoloring, but I think it turned out great.

Next up is a layout made with a kit called My Messy Boy and a template pack called My All Clustered Up both by Sweet Berry Designs. The photo is Cooper after he lost a battle with the sprinkler system. Just this past week, Tucker woke me up to go potty and Cooper decided to go too. The sprinkler were on in the back yard and he darted out and tried to bite it, and then immediately ran back inside. I think he has learned he won't win that battle.

Now for a layout that I really love. I got this beautiful kit by Kreations by Kami called Nature’s Canvas that is really pretty, but not in a girly way. I was doing a template challenge and thought it would be great for it, but I needed a one word title. I played with several different words and picture combinations before I settled on Perspective and photos from the Grand Canyon.

I also used the same kit to create a layout for a font challenge. I love fonts, they can really change the feel of a layout. On this one of Tucker and Cooper the font is called Font Moocher, well the tiptoe and bluebonnets part is.

Moving on to a kit by Polka Dot Plum Designs (Lauren and Amy) called Sweet Summertime. This is a great kit, I love the colors and find myself wanting to use it over and over. The first layout I did with it is Sharla and Cooper in the backyard. She was posing for some 4th of July pictures and he came over and kissed her.

My second layout using Sweet Summertime was for a template challenge. It was a great white space template, so I created a layout with Miss Callie in it. I love the sunburst paper and I think it worked well in this layout.

My last layout (for now) with Sweet Summertime is Mecca and Pam (Mecca's sister). It was taken when Pam came recently for a visit. I did this layout for a Font Challenge using the font Accidental Kiss.

Another kit that I've gotten to use by Polka Dot Plum Designs is called Rocky Top Sweetheart and it is a great kit too. I really love the "country" feel to this kit. My first layout is of Angela at the park and I love how her hair is glowing in the sun. You might think she is an angel, well until you got to know her. She is a great kid, but no angel (hehehe).

My next layout using Rocky Top Sweetheart is probably familiar to those that follow my blog. It is from an All About Me challenge where you had to tell what you are. I recently did a similar thing for a contest at STS, so I just modified that layout somewhat for this challenge. I think I like how this one came out better than the first one. But don't get used to layouts with me on them, I don't like doing those.

My next layout is Tom, Mecca, Callie and Cole and I used a kit by Sir Scrapalot called It’s Not Easy…. It is a great kit I love the bingo card in the kit and I just had to have a little fun with my bingo markers.

Am I starting to wear you out???? Well we're almost done. My next one is using a kit called Audrey by Pixel Perfect Designs. Of course since it was inspired by Audrey Hepburn, I had to use Callie in the layout. I found a picture of her and Dolly that we took when Ira came to town with Dolly several years ago. I love the yellows and blacks in the kit and I thought they worked well with the photo.

Sharla is not fond of me taking her picture, but she is a good sport and will let me take one now and then. We were playing around one day, and I took a picture of her taking a picture of me. I immediately thought of that picture when I got a chance to work the kit called Focus a collaboration by Sweet Tomato Designs, Pagefrocks, and Heather Hess. It is a kit that "focuses" on photography.

And drum roll please my last one for today, and yes if you were counting that is a whopping 14 layouts in this post. When I opened this kit, I was in love. I did the this layout in about 30 minutes, and it only took that long because Sharla was talking to me. It is called Daddy's Girls and I did it for a font challenge. The font is Reservoir Grunge and the kit is called Fern by Polka Dot Pixels. I love the colors of this kit, it just reminds me of summertime. I picked a photo taken a long time ago of Sharla, Daddy and I sitting on the couch. Wait do you realize that I've done three layouts in the post alone with photos of me...what am I thinking???

Ok that is it for today, be sure to stop by again soon, because I'm sure I'll have more to show you.

Happily Ever After and Freebie

Once upon a time in a land far away....they lived Happily Ever After. Ok I'm writing a fairy tale, I'm going to show you two layouts made with a new kit by Scraps by Andrea called Happily Ever After. It is bright and cheerful and is good for boys or girls (but my layouts are girls). I'm so excited that she is designing again after having her lovely daughter. She got the inspiration for this kit from her new daughters pajamas.

Ok my first layout is of me...yes you read that correctly me. I've found recently I've done more layouts of me, and boy that needs to stop!!! These photos are quite old. Callie had gotten a dress up set and one day she decided I needed to dress up in her "child" sized set. The hat and the veil were ok, and we just changed where I wore the blue net skirt (hehehe). She had fun dressing me.

And to be fair here is a picture of her in the same dress up stuff. From very early on Callie was a clothes girl, and she still is today!!! And although she made the cutest bride in this photo, she is now saying it will be a long time before she ever marries (we'll see).

Now for your freebie. I made two word arts and put them in the same file. One for a girl and one for a boy. The image is linked so just click and download. And as always I would love to hear from my fellow scrappers.

Make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Happily Ever After soon, you'll have lots of fun with it.

Trying to Catch Up - STS

Ok here is another long list of layouts I've done recently. I'm trying very hard to get caught up and hopefully not get as far behind in the future. Today I'm going to show you challenges I've done at Stuff to Scrap including the ones from "This Scrapper's Got Talent".

First is a layout I did for a motto/slogan challenge and when I saw the slogan, I immediately thought of Cole. He has always had a great imagination, and can turn just about anything (including the dog's "no chew" collars) into something fun.

Now for one I really struggled with, it was for the "This Scrapper's Got Talent" contest. The layout had to monochrome, and I love the look of them, but they are not something I really do a lot. I guess they didn't like it either because I was eliminated that week. :( The photos are from last Thanksgiving.

Another one from the same contest, different week. The challenge was to have layout that was mostly journaling, which was a real struggle for me. You could only have one photo and it could not be of someone or a pet. I'm not sure if you can read the journaling, if not ask me and I'll tell you the story.

Ok the first week of that contest, I had to do something I really dislike and that was scrap about me. And it had to have a picture of me. I started to just use the old one, but thought I'd be good (yes it was hard). I used one of Scraps by Andrea's kits called Unconditional Love which I really love.

Ok, I guess now is as good of time to show you the other entry into that contest. It was a two page layout, and I had to have ten photos. I have never done a two page layout, and rarely do I use more than two photos. So after struggling I came up with the 10 things that make me smile. I'll show you it together and then each side so you can see a little better.

Ok that's it for today, I'll be back soon with layouts I've done at PDP. I hope everyone has a safe and blessed July 4th!!!!!
