Pages for May

It has been a busy month, and I didn't get much scrapped.  I was too busy quilting.  But I did get two pages created for Trixie Scraps Designs, so I thought I would show those to you.

First is one I created for the word challenge on her blog.  It is a simple layout using Heart of a Friend Value Bundle, which is a fantastic kit.  I picked the word "friend" for everyone to use, and so it was an easy choice for me to use a photo of Sharla, since she is my best friend.

Next up on Memorial Day I was missing my mom and dad, so I decided to do a layout remembering them.  I used the kit Remembering You Value Bundle, which is great for these types of pages.  The photo was taken on a trip to the Grand Canyon.  I chopped Sharla and I out of it (hehehe).

Both of these kits are available and I linked the kit names to her store.  If you do digital scrapbooking they are a great for your stash.

Catching Up

It seems like forever since I blogged. Life has been busy. Yes I have been scrapping, but not as much as normal. It seems like life is passing by very very quickly these days. So today you are going to get to see several layouts, done with beautiful kits by Trixie Scraps Designs. She has been creating some wonderful kits!!! First up is a layout I did for a challenge on her blog...Trixie Scraps Blog. It was a word challenge and I selected the word Grateful. It has been a hard year on my family, but we still know we have lots to be grateful about. The layout uses Trixie's After 10 Years Bundle, which I have to say is one of my newest favorites. I love the colors. The photo is Sharla getting her definitive prosthesis, and can I say I'm so proud of her.
My next layout is using November Templatetopia by North Meets South Studios and That’s My Boy by Trixie Scraps. I love the templates Trixie Scraps and Connie Prince create, they are easy to use and make the pages look great. The photos on this one are of my #1 boy, Tucker. He had just been groomed, so he is looking sharp.
Next up is a layout using the You Matter Bundle. It is a wonderful set, with colors that I love (yep pink/green). Trixie always has great elements in her kits and this one is no exception. It is another page of Sharla and her new "Gertie". I saw this quote on pinterest and it just screamed Sharla to me and so I made it my title.
My last one for the day is using Sweetened With Gratitude which is Trixie's GAB pieces and I really have to say she knocked this one out of the park. I love the colors and the elements and the word arts are perfect!!!! I used an old photo of Mom, Dad, Sharla and I at the Grand Canyon. With the holidays approaching, I'm missing Mom and Dad more and more.
That wraps up things for now, but make sure you head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up these kits, you won't regret it!!!!!

Lots of Kits

Happy Saturday all, I'm going to show you lots of layouts today and all of them are done with kits by JennCK Designs. I was lucky enough to be invited to be on her team last month, and she has been really creating some great stuff. Now what I am going to show you is a mix of new kits and some re-releasing kits. She has opened new stores at Ginger Scraps, and is a guest this month at Gotta Pixel, so she is one busy lady. I love her stuff because she does lots of flowers and ya'll know me...nothing makes me happier than flowers.

First up I'm going to do the kits she is re-releasing. Fall In Love is a beautiful fall kit that is packed with goodies. I used the matching Fall In Love Templates for this layout of Tom and Mecca. The combination of green, red and tan is one of my favorites.

The next kit she is re-releasing is Delicious and it's matching Delicious Templates, which I used for this layout of Callie and Cole. They are the apples of my eye and I love the bright colors with the black and white photos, and those little apples are too cute!!!!

The last re-release is Indian Summer and Indian Summer Template. I love this kit the flower are TOTALLY awesome, and the colors just are yummy. I coveted this kit for a long time!!!! I used it in a layout with Sharla, Mom and Aunt Jean, and that blue background paper is just so pretty to me. Yes it is a solid paper, but I still love it.

Ok now on to some of her new stuff. First up is an exclusive she has at Gotta Pixel right now called Pride and Joy and if you buy the kit before 11/15 you will get the Pride and Joy Add-on for free. I used both in a layout I did of my little Zoey. I love the rich colors in this kit, and it will go with so many things.

Next is a great Halloween kit called Midnight and it is available in all of her store and if you purchase before 10/31 you will also get the Midnight Add-on for free (ain't that cool!!!). For this one I dug my photos of my little Sweet Pea Tucker. I need to get the costume out again and get some more pictures, because he is too cute in it.

And last but not least are two layouts I made with her Gotta Get It releases at Gotta Pixel (they are on sale for $1.00 per pack for the next week). The kit is called Breathe Easy and it is broken down into Breathe Easy Papers and Breathe Easy Elements and she has two template packs as well. For this first layout of Ms. Angela in a dance pose I used the Paper Inspired Templates Vol. 3 which are awesome.

And on my last layout for today I used the Breathe Easy pieces again along with Modern Style Templates Vol. 3. The photo is my Daddy, Grandmother and Uncle Clinton, three people I truly miss. And as the song says, "If heaven weren't so far away I would pack up the kids and go for the day.".
Ok that is it for today, but as you can see she has lots of great kits out there both new and old, and each of then names are linked. So if you want to see more on them just click on the names and it will take you to where you can see the kit (and buy it!!!).

Night Fall Minis and Templates

Happy Sunday all, today I'm going to show you layouts I've made with JennCk's newest minis and templates. She created these for the Ginger Scraps Buffet, so that means each piece is only $2.00!!!! She did two minis, 3 template packs and a scribble pack. The colors are wonderful and as always the templates are even better.

My first layout is Cooper, Sharla was trying to get photos of him next to a pumpkin she bought and he was not happy about it. She was disturbing him totally!!!! I used Night Fall Mini 1 and Night Fall Clean Lines Templates for this layout.

My second layout is of Daddy. I loved the little owls she had in the mini and thought this was a cute way to use them. As the holidays approach I miss him more and more!!! I used Night Fall Mini 2, Night Fall Paper Inspired Templates and Night Fall Scribbles for this one.

For my third layout I used Night Fall Mini 1 again along with Night Fall Modern Templates. The photos are of Ms. Callie on Halloween several years ago. She dressed up to give candy out at our house. It was an on the fly costume, but I think she looked very cute!!!.
Make sure you head over to Ginger Scraps and pick up Night Fall Mini 1 and Night Fall Mini 2 soon, and don't forget the great templates while you are there.

Grillin' It

Happy Wednesday all, I hope you're having a wonderful week. Today I am going to show you some layouts I created with a kit by HD Creations called Grillin’ It. It is a bright cheerful kit perfect for scrapping your bbq photos and much more.
My first layout is mom and dad taken years ago after a bbq. I love the hat and apron daddy is wearing (hehehe). I also love the flag banner in the kit and just had to use it.

My second layout I wanted to show how versatile the kit was so I didn't do a bbq page at all. I took one of the photos I took of Angela in her dance costume. I really love the dark brown against the bright colors. I think it makes the photo really pop.

That is it for now, but make sure you head over to the Stuff to Scrap store and pick up Grillin’ It soon.

Sleepover + More

Happy Monday all, today I'm going to show you quite a bit.  I have a brand new kit by JennCK Designs called "Sleepover", plus she has three new template packs and I have created a layout with one of her older kits called Dahlia.  So sit back and get ready to see some goodies.  Sleepover is available this week at Scrapbook Bytes as part of their Grab a Byte, which means each piece is only $1 and the template packs are on sale as well.
First up is Daddy and Cole, also known as Buddies. They were a pair, I'm not sure who had more fun when they were together. And I see a lot of Daddy in Cole, he definitely got his sense of humor. I used the Modern Templates Vol. 2 for this layout.

My second layout is Callie and her bestie Watson. She is nuts about that dog, it must run in the family. I used a template from Clean Lines Vol. 2 for this layout. I love the colors of the Sleepover kit, they go with so many things.

My last layout using Sleepover is Sharla and her camera. She hates that I take pictures of her taking pictures, but it always makes me smile. So of course I continue to do it. I used a template from Paper Inspired Vol. 2 for this layout.

I also got to use one of Jenn's older kits called Dahlia and I love the colors of this kit. Maybe because it is just packed with pretty flowers. I used a photo of Ariella because I thought she would look good against the pinks.

Make sure you head over to Scrapbook Bytes and pick up Sleepover, Dahlia, Paper Inspired Vol. 2, Clean Lines Vol. 2 and Modern Templates Vol. 2, they will be great additions to your stash.

Deep Blue Sea

Happy Thursday all, I hope you're having a wonderful week. I know I'm enjoying the cooler weather!!!!! Today I am going to show you some layouts I created with a new kit by Digital Scrap Fun called Deep Blue Sea a great kit perfect for your aquarium and/or fishing photos, plus a lot more. It is a great mix of color and elements that are fun and versatile. My first layout is Callie and Daddy on her first fishing trip in the ocean. It was one of those charter things and she had a great time. We didn't catch a lot of fish, but I think it was more just getting out on the water that made her happy. That and being with Papa. I love the mix of colors in this kit because they really make the photos pop.
My second layout I wanted to show that the kit could be used for other things, so I did a non fish layout. It is Callie again, and I think she is riding a dolphin, but I can't be sure. I love kits that put in flowers, button, etc. so you can use them for more than just themed layouts.
Deep Blue Sea is a great kit and a perfect addition to your scrapping stash, so head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick it up soon.

Family Picnic and Freebie

Happy Tuesday all, I hope everyone is having a good week. Me, I'm just trying to survive the heat. Took Mom to the doctor today and the car was registering 116 degrees...which is just plain hot!!!! Well at least it is cool when I'm at my computer...hehehe. And today I'm going to show you a layout I made with a new bundle by Digi-designs by Nicole called Family Picnic - the Bundle and a freebie too. This kit is perfect for your backyard picnic and bbq photos. It is a great mix of colors and elements that will really be usable for so much.

My layout features Cole and Daddy (aka Papa), when Cole was first introduced to ribs. And let me tell you it was love at first site for that boy!!!! Papa had such a great time feeding him. I love the elements in this kit, a great mix of fun things like the grill and normal elements like ribbons and flowers.
I also created a little freebie for you. Simply click on the preview to download, and as always feel free to leave a comment.

Are We There Yet?

Happy Friday all, I hope everyone is having a wonderful July. I think July is the most popular month for vacations. I know as a kid that was when we always took ours. Are you going any where fun this year. Well whether you are going by plane, train or automobile there is a new kit in the store that is perfect for you. It is called Are WE There Yet? and it has a companion kit called Are WE There Yet? Add-on. Both are a collaboration by Digital Harmony Design Studio and Meagan's Creations and those ladies are really talented. This kit is packed with all kinds of goodies!!!!

Growing up we did a road trip every summer, some of my best memories go back to those trips. And every year leading the charge was my dad. I called him the king of the road trip because he was so good at it. I love all the signs in the kit they are just so much fun to use.

My next layout is of my puppy driving, ok don't go crazy he isn't really driving, he is just behind the wheel waiting for me to get back in the car. I love these pictures of him and thought they'd be fun with these kits. I love the colors in these kits because they go with everything!!!!

Well that is it for today, but you should really head over to the store because both Are WE There Yet? and Are WE There Yet? Add-on are on sale for 30% off, but I'm not sure how long that will last.

Happy Saturday

Ok if this works I will be able to get caught up on showing ya'll lots of layouts. I'm trying to use the slideshow feature of photobucket. I've loaded all of the layouts I've been doing for Trixie Scraps (since I got the idea from her blog). I think there are about 30 layouts in the mix. It is so much easier than loading one layout at a time. If it works, then I'll try and do more of my challenge layouts this way and maybe I'll get caught up again (hehehe). We can only hope.

All the products for the layouts in the slide show are created by Trixie Scraps and can be found in her store.

Sizzling Hot Again

Happy Monday everyone, hope you're having a wonderful day!! The weather has been much warmer, in fact we've had to switch on the air. Gotta love Texas!!! Today I'm going to show you layouts I made with a kit by Amy Dane Designs called Sizzling Hot, and I also used their companion kits Sizzling Hot Word Art and Sizzling Hot Glitter Sheets. These are all Amy Dane's part of a collab with Adriana's Cafe (the one I showed you last week).

My first layout is one I did that features my favorite drink. I did it for a photography challenge. I love my frappuccinos, my favorite is a Cinnamon Dolce with White Chocolate Mocha, just say yummo. I love the colors in this kit, they are rich and elegant and can be used for so many types of layouts.

My second layout is Callie and Daddy. They had such a special relationship. She made him laugh. I think this is my favorite picture of them together. I love how this kit can take a simple shot and make it look elegant with these wonderful colors and elements.

Make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Sizzling Hot, Sizzling Hot Glitter Sheets, and Sizzling Hot Word Art because they are a perfect addition to your stash.

Big Post

Ok, here is the first big post to try and catch up on showing you my layouts. I'm going to focus on my Polka Dot Plum layout today. I don't think I will get through them all, but I will put a bunch out, just to reduce my backlog.

First up is a layout of sunflowers I did using a kit called Swirly Bundle by NBK Designs and a template from Tempting Templates Vol. 6 by BTA Designs. Sharla and I had been talking about not seeing many sunflowers this year, and then she found a small patch that was really on their last legs but I still thought they were beautiful.

Next is layout I did for a scraplift with a twist challenge. I had to scraplift a layout (which means use it for inspiration) and the twist was the photo had to have some photo treatment. I used a photo I had of Zoey with he orange squid toy. I loved how the orange popped against the b/w photo. The kit I used is Rocky Top Sweetheart by Polka Dot Plum Designs.

I love old photos especially if they are of someone else. I'm less fond of photos of me. This layout is for a theme challenge where the theme is back to school. I used a photo of Sharla from the first grade (at least I think it is the first grade...it has been a while). The kit I used is Making the Grade a collab by Modern June and Miss Mis Designs.

The next layout I did for a recipe challenge, and the photos are probably two of my favorites of Callie and Mecca. They were taken last Thanksgiving, and I just love how alive with laughter both of them were. The kit I used is called The Beauty Within by Valerie N Designs.

Journaling is not my forte, so I always struggle with journaling challenges, but this one said you had to journal inside a shape. Since my circle was small the journaling was easy. The photo is Ira Lou and Uncle King George when they came to visit in 2002, it is hard not to have a good time around them. The kit I used is It’s Not Easy… by Sir Scrapalot.

Next is a layout of Mecca, Tom, Callie and Cole, the photo was taken at Mother's Day. I did it for a product challenge, that is where they give you a pieces or parts to use and in this case it was the frame cluster. I like making the photo look like it was two different ones with that frame, but it really is only a single photo. The kist used is Sweet Summertime by Polka Dot Plum Designs.

Sharla and Tucker are the spotlight of this layout where I used pieces from a collab by the designers of Polka Dot Plum. Tucker was a wiggle worm and I was worried for a little while she was going to drop him. But she held on and he had fun sitting on her lap.

Now for a layout of two very special men. The photo is of Daddy and Uncle Clinton fishing. They loved to fish, and probably the only better than fishing was fishing together, at least for them. The layout was done for a color challenge where I needed to use blue, yellow, grey and black so I used a kit called Looptyloo by Connie Prince.

A non traditional challenge is where they give you something different as your inspiration, it can be anything an ad, a magazine cover, or just a "idea". For this one we were given a magazine cover that reminded me of a quilt, so this my take on it. The photos are Callie from her birthday several years ago, and as always she was making faces. The kit used is call Fern by Polka Dot Pixels.

I must be on a Callie birthday kick, because her is another one of her. This one I did for a recipe challenge. The challenge require the layout to have a birthday hat on it, and I just thought it looked so cute on her head (insert evil grin here). The kit is Make a Wish by Just So Scrappy.

Since is it a Callie Birthday theme, I'm got another one. This one I is her second birthday (I counted the candles on the cake). Mom made the cake and it had a hot air balloon on it. The kit I used is called It’s Your Day by Pixel Perfect Designs.

Polka Dot Plum is celebrating their first birthday this month, so a lot of the challenges are themed around birthdays as well as several of the new kits. So I must just have birthday's on the brain. My next layout is another Callie birthday...next post I'll move on to Cole's birthdays. I used the kit Celebrate by Kalo Designs.

Time for another old photo, this one is Sharla, Aunt Sallie and Uncle Clinton way back in the day. We went back to see daddy's family every summer and it was a time filled with lots of hugs (they had to get a year's worth in two weeks). The kit I used is called Heritage by Connie Prince.

Ok it can be officially called a Callie post, I must have just had her on my mind lately, because I am certainly doing lots of layouts with her. This photo I believe was taken on her birthday, she was modeling some of the clothes she had received. The I used is called Tea with the Queen by Secret Stash.

And last for today....I know I made this post extra long, but I didn't even get half of the layouts I have completed posted. But I have new kits releasing the first part of next week, so I'll have more to show you soon. But now for layout using a kit called Swirly Bundle. The photo is my Tucker Boy, and I had fun with the selective coloring on this one.

In case you were counting that is 15 layouts, and I probably have at least 20 more if not more to show you. I'll be back tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday with new releases, so make sure you stop by because there will be some freebies as well.

Always and Forever

Happy Saturday all, today I'm going to show you some layouts I created with a kit called Always and Forever by Ivory Keys Digital Dreams. It is a beautiful kit with great colors and a wonderful mix of elements. It is an elegant kit, but can be used for almost any type of layout.

My first layout is of Mom and Dad. They had almost 52 years together before we lost Daddy, but when we went through the photos there were not a lot of them together. Guess one or the other was always off chasing one of us kids (Tom or Sharla...I was the good one...yes I was!!!!). I really love the papers in the kit, and I thought they looked good with black and white photos, so I de-saturated the more modern photos.

My second layout is Callie and Mecca from Mother's Day. Callie lives in Waco now, and it seems like she rarely gets back to Denton...ohhh why do they have to grow up. I love the photo of Mecca resting her head on Callie, it seems like just yesterday Mecca was holding Callie on her shoulder.

That's it for today, make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Always and Forever soon. It is available alone or in a collaboration with A+ Designs. I'm hoping to be back later tonight with another big catch up post, I have a ton of layouts to show you.

Butter Toffee and A Freebie

Happy Wednesday all...I love holiday weekends, but boy do they mess with my schedule, not to mention add a vacation day to the mix. Sharla and I have gotten lots of stuff done, but I'm so behind on posting. Today I'm going to show you a layout I created using a new mini kit by Scraps by Andrea called Butter Toffee. Andrea calls it a mini but it has 10 papers and 21 elements. It's full of rich colors that are perfect for scrapping your special occasions or everyday photos.

I used it to scrap an older photo of mom and dad. When I saw the kit I immediately thought is would be perfect for antique photos or older photos. The has an elegance about it that makes any layout look so nice, even simple ones like this one.

Also I created a brag book freebie for you using the kit. I tried to do one that you would be able to use with almost any photos.

So head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Butter Toffee and then go to Andrea's blog and check out the links to her CT team, because I'm sure others have done brag book pages as well. I'm a little late, so you may have to go back a day or two on their blogs, but it will be worth it.

My 4 Sons

Nope I've not adopted 4 boys, but I am going to show you layouts made with a new kit by Scrappin' Daisies called My 4 Sons. It is a wonderful boys kit, but really so much more. Rich colors and great elements make this kit useful for all kinds of layouts.

Both of my layouts feature Cole today...who else would I use for a boy kit, ok knowing me it could have been anyone, but I did use Cole. This first one is Daddy try to measure how tall Cole was. The photo wasn't dated, but I'm guessing he was about three or four. Daddy was still flexible enough to get down on the floor and still get up again...hehehe. I love the orange/teal/brown colors in this kit.

My second layout is a couple of years later. Sharla snapped this one when he looked over his shoulder and flashed her his big smile. I love that even though it is a boys kit, it has flowers.

So head over to Brownie Scraps this week and pick up My 4 Sons because it is 25% off this week.
