Auld Lang Syne

Ok, I'm getting a little better, this kit was just released yesterday and I'm blogging about it today.  It has been a rough week, Sharla's leg is still swelling and they say if it doesn't go down she will have to go back into the hospital.  And on top of that I've gotten a wonderful winter cold.  We're doing ok, but we both just want to sleep.  But before I went to sleep yesterday I created a page with Auld Lang Syne a new kit by North Meets South Studios (aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince). I have to say I love the colors and elements in this one. It is prefect for scrapping your New Year's Eve photos and so much more.

I have decided rather than set goals or resolutions for 2013, I want to focus on things that bring me joy. So that is what I scrapped about. My year of joy is going to be filled with things like photography, quilting, scrapping and of course doggie kisses. Will it have more sure, I plan on trying to do something joyful everyday. I loved the 2013 hanging element and all the flowers in this kit. It was just so much fun to use.

Make sure you head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up Auld Lang Syne, you will love it as an addition to your stash.

December is almost over

I can't believe that December is almost over. It has been such a hectic month. I started it off in good shape, but between Sharla going into the hospital and me getting a cold, it has gone down hill fast. But I want to make sure I show you some goodies from Trixie Scraps Designs. First up I used the December Templatetopia and Sweetened With Gratitude Bundle for this layout. I love the templatetopia bundle because it is such a great deal!!!! The photos are of Callie, Cole and Trey, it is so hard to believe they are all grown.
Next I used Presents Everywhere for this layout. I love bright colors of these pieces and it was so much fun to use. I used a photo of Callie posing by her presents last year. Such a cheeky girl!!!!
Next up and the last for today is a layout I made using Winter Carolers. Now I love all of Trixie's kits, but this one is simply wonderful. I love the everything about it!!! I think it is my new all time favorite. The photo is Tom, Mecca, Callie and Cole on Christmas morning a couple of years ago. Don't they look cute in their matching pjs.
That is it for now. I will be back tomorrow or the next day with a great new collab from North Meets South Studios (perfect for the new year!!!). And don't forget to head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up these goodies soon!!!!

My Shelf Elf

Do you have an Elf on the Shelf? Well, I don't but I love seeing what those creative parents are doing these days. If you have one, you really need to pick up My Shelf Elf by North Meets South Studios. It is perfect for scrapping the adventures of your elf. Just look at the linked preview below.

Since I don't have an elf, I decided to scrap Callie and Cole. They were having fun when we were taking family pictures on Christmas morning. Sometimes it is hard to get a good photo of them, because they are moving so fast.

Make sure you go out and pick up My Shelf Elf soon.

Catching Up

It seems like forever since I blogged. Life has been busy. Yes I have been scrapping, but not as much as normal. It seems like life is passing by very very quickly these days. So today you are going to get to see several layouts, done with beautiful kits by Trixie Scraps Designs. She has been creating some wonderful kits!!! First up is a layout I did for a challenge on her blog...Trixie Scraps Blog. It was a word challenge and I selected the word Grateful. It has been a hard year on my family, but we still know we have lots to be grateful about. The layout uses Trixie's After 10 Years Bundle, which I have to say is one of my newest favorites. I love the colors. The photo is Sharla getting her definitive prosthesis, and can I say I'm so proud of her.
My next layout is using November Templatetopia by North Meets South Studios and That’s My Boy by Trixie Scraps. I love the templates Trixie Scraps and Connie Prince create, they are easy to use and make the pages look great. The photos on this one are of my #1 boy, Tucker. He had just been groomed, so he is looking sharp.
Next up is a layout using the You Matter Bundle. It is a wonderful set, with colors that I love (yep pink/green). Trixie always has great elements in her kits and this one is no exception. It is another page of Sharla and her new "Gertie". I saw this quote on pinterest and it just screamed Sharla to me and so I made it my title.
My last one for the day is using Sweetened With Gratitude which is Trixie's GAB pieces and I really have to say she knocked this one out of the park. I love the colors and the elements and the word arts are perfect!!!! I used an old photo of Mom, Dad, Sharla and I at the Grand Canyon. With the holidays approaching, I'm missing Mom and Dad more and more.
That wraps up things for now, but make sure you head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up these kits, you won't regret it!!!!!

After 10 Years

Happy Monday all, I hope you had an excellent weekend. It turned cool here, so I'm so happy. But today I'm here to tell you about a new collection from Trixie Scraps Designs called After 10 Years. It is her GAB collection this month and it is simply beautiful. The colors are orange, black and cream, and instead of doing a Halloween kit, she went in a different direction and it is perfect. My first layout is Callie and Beau, and I loved this photo. When I saw the word art for the kit, I knew it would be perfect for this photo. I have to say I used something from almost every piece in the collection, because I couldn't resist.
Now my second layout features a couple that has been together a little longer than the first one, but my biggest wish for Callie and Beau is that they are as happy together for as long as Tom and Mecca have been. On this layout I cheated just a little and used the pre-made clusters. The layout came together in absolutely no time. They are a great way to make fast layouts.
Ok all the pieces are on sale this week, so make sure you head over and check out After 10 Years soon!!!!!

That's My Boy and Little Ladybug

Ok today you are going to see layouts made with two different collections by Trixie Scraps Designs. The first is called That’s My Boy and is her GGI pieces at Gotta Pixel. It is the perfect boys kit, but has enough other stuff (flowers, etc) that is can be used for lots of different layouts.

My layout uses both That’s My Boy & Layer Lovers Vol 3 and features my #1 Dog Tucker. I normally struggle when I can't put lots of flowers on the page, but this kit is so easy to work with and get great pages without flowers.

The second collection is called Little Ladybug and is Trixie's GAB pieces at Scrapbook Bytes. Now the color combination of pink, green and brown is one of my favorites and add wonderful elements to the mix and you have "FANTASTIC". I love everything about this kit, especially the papers, which you will noticed I used lots of on my layout. The photo is Ms. Ariella at her birthday party blowing kisses....so cute!!!!

Make sure you head over and pickup That’s My Boy & Layer Lovers Vol 3 soon it is only on sale through tomorrow and then go get Little Ladybug, it is only only on sale this week.

It is a great mix of templates this month, with some really cool blended ones. Just look at the linked preview.

I used Rescue Me for my kit and did photos of Tucker. I love blended photos, but can never get them to look right, unless I use a wonderful template like in this set.

Make sure you head over to one of Trixie Scrap's stores and pick up September Templatetopia. For the month of September only it is $3.99 for 16 templates.

Happy Homebody

Ok I admit it, I am a happy homebody. I would be content to stay there for days on end, but it seems like I never get to spend as much time at home as I would like. But that is not why I'm here today, nope I'm going to show you the layout I made with Happy Homebody by North Meets South Studios (aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince). It is a fun kit perfect for scrapping your moving photos, your neighborhood, or just about anything. Just look at the linked preview to see all the goodies.

I scrapped some of the photos we took while building the house. I focused on some of the ones with Callie in them. I think she was as excited as we were about the house, and she had a grand time walking through it as it was built. I really love the colors in this kit, because they are a nice mix that go with almost everything. And the elements are just too cute.

Make sure you head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store soon because Happy Homebody is on sale right now for 30% off!!!!!

Apples for Teachers and Rise To It

Before I show you the goodies for today, I really want to say thank you to all my friends and family who have kept me in their thoughts and prayers during this tough time. Your love and support has made this process bearable.

Now on to more happier topics. Today I am going to show you layouts I made with Trixie Scraps Designs two newest kits. The first is Apples for Teachers and it is $1.00 per piece until tomorrow. It is her GGI pieces at Gotta Pixel. I love the colors and the mix of elements. And in her trademark style you could use the kit for all kinds of layouts. Here is a preview of the so you can some of the goodies, and it is linked to her store.
And here is the layout I made using a photo of Ms. Callie. She may be more grown up, but she still has the same smile!!! I love the word arts that came with this kit!!!!

Next up is her GAB pieces at Scrapbook Bytes called Rise To It. Now I love the colors of this one, and it is just paced with great stuff including lots of flowers and ya'll know I love flowers. Here is the preview of the elements, and it is linked to her store.

The photo on this one is Callie and her beau Beau. I will say I'm impressed with him. He came up with her to support her during mom's viewing and service and that is just what he did. He got a trial by fire, in he had to meet everyone all at once, but he stayed by her side and I was impressed. Of course, he is no dummy, he know a prize when he sees one. Sharla got this photo after the service, I loved that they could still laugh, because laughter makes everything easier.

Make sure you head over and pick up the pieces to Apples for Teachers and Rise To It soon, because the special prices won't last long.

Everybody Fights Sometimes

No I'm not here today to tell you about the people I've been fighting with. If you know me, you know I'm the sweetest, kindest, gentlest person around and I would never fight with anyone...oops had to jump out of the way of the lightening that was trying to strike me (hehehe). No I'm here to show you a new kit by North Meets South Studios (aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince). The kit is called Everybody Fights Sometimes and is perfect for all of your not so happy photos as well as your happy ones. The colors of the kit are bright and cheery, but it is packed with great themed word art. Just look at the linked preview to get a sense of the fun of it.

When deciding what to scrap I came across a photo of mom that was definitely grumpy to say the least. I'm not sure what she was frowning about, but some was rubbing her wrong. I loved the word art in this kit and especially the one I got to use on this layout (because it is so true).

Make sure you head over to Trixie's store and pick up Everybody Fights Sometimes for your stash. I know you will find lots of great uses for it.

Remembering You

Happy Sunday all, I hope you're having a great day. Today I'm going to show you layouts I made with Trixie Scraps Designs' newest pieces called Remembering You. It is her GGI...Gotta Grab It pieces at Gotta Pixel this month. That means each piece is only $1 until the 17th. And I love this months pieces. She has elements, papers, PLAID papers (which are WONDERFUL), cardstocks, journaling bits and two template packs. To say I was in heaven when I saw all of these is putting it mildly. Here is a preview of what the kit will look like when it is all together (right now it is in papers/elements).

I did two layouts because there were so many pieces. On this one I used the papers, elements, journaling bits and collage collector templates. Since it is a remembering kit, I did photos of the kids with daddy. I still miss him and I'm sure they do too.

For my second layout I went with a different theme. This kit is so versatile it will work for all kinds of layouts. I used photos of Angela in her dance costume, because I loved the blues/greens/browns with her cream tutu. I used the papers, elements, plaid/gingham papers, cardstocks and layer lovers templates for this one.

Make sure you head over to Gotta Pixel and get all the pieces to Trixie's Remembering You Collection while they are on sale!!! I know you will find lots of uses for them.

Change Your Fate

Happy Friday all, I hope you're having a wonderful week. Today I'm going to show you a layout I made using a new collab by Trixie Scraps Desings and Britt-ish Designs called Change Your Fate. It is a wonderful kit that was inspired by the new Disney movie Brave. I love this kit, great colors, wonderful elements and my latest obsession, plaid paper!!!! The linked preview below shows how packed it is with great stuff.

When looking through the kit there was a word art that simply said "It's Fate" and when I saw that I knew what I wanted to scrap. That has been Sharla's response to everything that has happened over the last year. And for those friends and family following the blog, she is doing GREAT. I also used July Templatetopia by North Meets South Studios on this layout. And I have to say, I love the all the elements in this kit, but the little copper coins just make me smile. Yes I know I'm crazy.
This kit can be used for all kinds of layouts, so make sure you pick up Change Your Fate really soon. And if you go to Trixie Blog you will find the absolute cutest cardstock freebie and then you can go to Britt's Blog and get a freebie add-on as well. Happy scrapping all!!!!!

Guess What? Chicken Butt!

No I'm not calling Sharla names, but I'm thinking Chicken Butt would be a good nickname for her...but no one tell I said that (hehehe). No it is the name of a really fun new kit by North Meets South Studios...aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince. How they came up with Guess What? Chicken Butt!, who knows but it definitely made me laugh. This kit is just too cute, lots of great elements, both themed and not, so you can do just about anything with it. Just look at the linked preview below.

Now I couldn't find any chicken photos in my stash, I guess I don't hang out on the farm to often. So I decided to use the next best thing, my "chicken dog" Cooper. Poor baby we call him that because other dogs try to eat him.

Make sure you head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up Guess What? Chicken Butt! really soon!!!!!
