Traveling Stash

I was out in blog land a week or so ago and I saw this very cute idea of a traveling stash box. What is a Traveling Stash Box? It's a box that's filled with a collection of fabrics, threads and other quilt fun! When you receive a box you take out what you like, replace it with items from your own stash, hold a giveaway and then send it on to the next lucky person. You can find all the rules and guidelines here.  I signed up for the chance on Robin's site Livin' Blue Quilter's site and low and behold I won.  My box arrived last night, and it had some really great stuff in it.  Let me show you what all was in there. There is only one tape measure, but some how it made it into two photos.

And after careful consideration I chose to keep these items from the box.  I will admit is was easier to find things I wanted to keep than to find things to put back into the box.  I love fabric and have such a hard time parting with it.

I admit I love pink and green so those were easy choices for me.  The hardest thing was not taking it all, and I have to admit the little birdie fabric went into and out of the keep pile several times. So then the hard part really started.  I pulled out fabrics and there were a couple that I had gotten in swaps that weren't my taste, but still beautiful, so those were fairly easy.  But then it was so hard to choose, I looked at the other fabrics in the box and tried to give things a little mix.  I even included two 1 yard cuts of some batik fabrics.  Those were the hardest to give up, but I noticed there weren't any in the kit and I thought they would make a great addition.

So now is the time for this wonderful box to move to a new home to give someone else some joy. So if you want a chance to have this box visit you next, leave a comment below.  Comments will be open until April 5, and I will draw on the 6th.  Please make sure I have your email so I can contact you if you are the winner.

Here are the rules for the traveling box:
  1.  Be an active blogger. Post about receiving and the box and the giveaway on your blog in a timely manner.
  2. There is a note in the box that logs where the box has been. Please add you info and place the note back in the box.
  3. There is a list of Rules and Guidelines in the box. Please read and follow these and return the list to the box.
  4. You may take anything you like from the box. Just replace every item with comparable quilt shop quality items equal to the amount taken.
  5. Ship the box to the next person in a reasonable amount of time.
  6. Due to the amount of postage, shipping is only within the USA.

Comments closed a winner will be picked and announced shortly.

Ok I signed up for a chance to win a stop on the traveling stash box trip and I won.  I'm going through it now and trying to figure out what I want to keep and what I want to put back into the box.  I will be posting the photos tomorrow night and giving ya'll a chance to be the next stop for the box.

If you've not heard of the traveling stash box before you can check out Cherise's site at Sewingly Along, since she is the tracker of the boxes.

Nature Walk and Sailor Duck

Happy Friday all, today I'm going to show you two layouts I've made recently. The first uses Nature Walk Bundle by Trixie Scraps Designs. It is a wonderful bundle full of blues and greens that enhance all kinds of photos. My photo is of Angela, and anyone looking at her would have to agree that she is definitely a Natural Beauty!!!

My second layout uses a new kit by North Meets South Studios (aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince) and it is call Sailor Duck. It is perfect for any of your Donald Duck photos or any boat/water photos and more. It is bright and cheerful with the red, white, blue and yellow. I love the water, so nautical kits are just up my alley. This layout features Tom and Callie and Joe's boat. :)

Now head over to Trixie Scraps Design Store and pick up Trixie Scraps Design Store and Sailor Duck. Both will be great additions to your stash!!!!

Lucky Me and March Templatetopia

Happy Friday all, today I'm going to show you a couple of layouts I made with March Templatetopia and Heart of a Friend Bundle. And also Trixie Scraps is now at GingerScraps and she has piece in their monthly Buffet called Lucky Me and I will show you a layout I did using those pieces. First up is my March Templatetopia layout. Templatetopia is created by North Meets South Studios (aka Trixie Scraps Designs and Designs by Connie Prince). Each month they create a wonderful set of templates, group them up and sell them at a NICE discount. I love them. This month I also used Heart of a Friend Bundle by Trixie Scraps, which is fast becoming one of my favorite kits, I love the colors and the mix of papers and elements...just marvelous!!! The photo I used is Tucker sitting on my rag quilt. He truly believes all blankies and quilts are his.

Now Lucky Me has great colors and fun elements. Right now each piece is only $1 through the 5th of March. I had such fun playing with it. My photo is of Callie and Beau, I think they are such a cute couple!!!!

Make sure you head out and pick up March Templatetopia, Lucky Me and Heart of a Friend Bundle, they will all be great additions to you stash.
