Simple Elegance & Please Vote for Me

Happy Saturday all, I'm going to show you a wonderful new kit by Scappin' Daisies Design called Simple Elegance. I'm a member of her team in the Battle of the Creative Teams over at DSA and this week we had to do a monochrome layout. She whipped this kit up for us to use...isn't she great!!!! We wanted to use a cream and she added touches of brown for when it went into the store. But since I've mentioned the contest at DSA I will ask you to please vote for Scrappin' Daisies and you can Vote Here.

My first layout is the one I did for the contest. We had to either trade photos or scrap about ourselves, and we chose to to ourselves. Well those of you who know me, know that was a challenge for me. I don't like layouts of me. But I did it, and I even included my favorite fur baby Tucker.

My second layout is one I really love, both because it has one of my favorite subjects and because I think it turned out so well. I did get a text from Callie this week, she saw the layout I posted last week with her on the potty, she wasn't thrilled, but she took it like a champ. She is beautiful and gracious too!!!

Ok Simple Elegance is on sale this week so make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up soon. Also don't forget to vote for Scrappin' Daisies at DSA (Vote Here). I'll be back with more great stuff this week.

Fabulous Fall & Freebie

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you're enjoying the fabulous fall weather...we had a little too much weather yesterday. It stormed so bad they cancelled Mom and Callie's flight home, so they had to stay in Virginia another day. Callie was so bummed...NOT. I think she had a great time, but I'll know more when they get home tonight.

Today I'm going to show you layouts made with Digi-designs by Nicole's new kit called Fabulous Fall and it is a fabulous kit. Ok...I know a little thick on the pun, but it is a great kit. The colors are perfect for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any type of fall layouts. I made two layouts using it and I know I will use it many more times in the future.

My first layout is Cooper when we visited the pumpkin field last year. He actually let us get some good shots...not so much this year. The kit has some wonderful elements like flowers, string, buttons all of which really make great layouts.

My second layout is of Tucker. The photo was taken about a week ago, and he was just laying around watching us, so Sharla snapped his picture. This layout really shows what great papers the kit has. They go with everything.

I also created a freebie for you. Simply click on the preview and download. And as always, I love hearing from you, so feel free to leave a comment.

Fabulous Fall, along with the quick pages, and extra pack are all on sale this week for 20% off, so make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick it up soon. Also make sure you check out Nicole's Blog because she has all the freebies from her CT listed there. And I'll be back later this week with more to show you.

Kaden & Please Please Vote for Me

Happy Saturday all, I'm here today begging for votes. Ok maybe I'm going to show you a new release too, but first is please vote for the Scrappin' Daisies team in the DSA Battle of the creative teams. My team and I really worked hard on our entries and I would love any vote I could get. To vote simply CLICK HERE, it is a simple poll you don't have to register or anything, and of course you're picking Scappin' Daisies!!!!! Thanks so much.

Well now for the new release by Scappin' Daisies. It wasn't scheduled to be released until next week, but we all loved the kit so much we used it in our layouts for the contest (yes all of us used the same kit). The kit's name is Kaden after one of my fellow CT member's son. Some photos of him were the inspiration for the kit. I have to say this is one of my all time favorites, I love the greens and the elements are just wonderful.

My first layout is the one I did for the DSA contest. We had to scraplift two of our fellow team members, and pick either today, yesterday or tomorrow as our word to use as a title. We picked today and I used pictures of Watson...who is Watson you might ask, because I don't think you've seen pictures of him before. Well he is Callie's new, bet I had your mind racing then. He is a full blooded German Shepard that is expected to reach about 100 lbs.

My second layout is of Cole and the photo was take after my grandmother's funeral. He was so cute in his suit. Of course these days dressed up means a tie...amazing what a few years can do.

Kaden is a wonderful kit and you should head over to Brownie Scraps and pick it up this week while it is on sale. And don't forget to Vote Here.

Catch Up Post

Ok I'm going to have a fairly large post tonight. I'm going to show you lots of layouts I've done using Victoria Feemster's products. She has had lots of great new kits in the last month or two and some really cool ones coming soon.

My first layout is of Tom and Mecca and the kit is Everlasting Love, somehow they just went together well in my head. I love the fallish colors of this kit, and it has great elements too.

Next is a layout I did of Callie and Mom. The photo was taken last Thanksgiving and it is one of my favorites of the two of them. I used the kit Hope, which is a nice kit with beautiful neutral tones.

I love the kit Hey Dude because it is bright and graphic and perfect for photos of Cole. So of course I used him in this layout. I'm not sure what the look on his face is about, be I think he rocks that hat.

Next up is a layout with Cooper. The kit is called Monsters Under the Bed. I didn't have many sleeping kid pictures, so I decided to scrap my little monster....ain't he cute.

Now for a layout that Callie will hate!!! I'm not exactly sure why Sharla felt the need to snap a photo of her on the potty, but it was perfect for the kit Potty Party. And don't you love she was reading...hehehe

Ok do you recognize the person in this layout...well I was going through old Halloween photos and found this one of someone I used to work with...ok so maybe she was out on Halloween and her department mates decided to fill her chair. This kit is called Spooky Town.

Ok the kit for this layout is called This One Life
This One Life and the photos are Callie and Cole with Mom taken on Mother's Day. They were having such a grand time messing with her. She just ignored their antics.

Ok the last one for today is another Halloween layout. The kit is Trick or Treatin' Cuties and the photo is an old one of Callie and Cole. She is a french maid and he is a pirate. I wish I had been better about dating the photos, because I have no idea how old they were. But I love she is "dusting" him.

Well that is it for today, hopefully I'll be back tomorrow or Sunday with another big catch up post. I have lots to show you!!!!

Tuff N Tiny

Happy Monday's late on Monday, but it has been a hectic day. We're having the roof replaced so lots of pounding and pounding and pounding. Even the dogs are exhausted because they didn't get much sleep today. But enough of the boring stuff, I'm here to show you layouts I made with a kit called Tuff N Tiny by Scrappin' Serenity. It is a boys kits, packed full of things to highlight any of your boy photos, but it has so much more.

My first layout is of my baby boy...ok my fur baby boy Tucker. I really love a kit like this one that has lots of elements including flowers (even though it is a boy's kit). And I really love the brown brick paper, it is just cool looking to me.

My second layout is of Cole, the photos are taken a few years apart...ok about 17 years apart. He was a cute baby, and he is a cute teenager. It seems like just yesterday he was a little boy, now he is taller than everyone in the family.

It is a great kit, so make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Tuff N Tiny to add to your stash.

Nothin' But Treats & A Freebie

Happy Friday all, I know everyone is beginning to look forward to Halloween, I know I am. I love all the kids dressed up in costumes. The is just something about the little ones who are just learning how to trick or treat that makes me smile. Today I'm going to show you layouts made with a new kit by Scraps by Andrea called Nothin’ But Treats and give you a little treat. This kit is bright and colorful and perfect for scrapping those costumed cuties no matter what their ages.

My first layout is of a big baby (hehehe), it is my friend Tina dressed up as a baby for our office Halloween celebration. I think it was her first year working there and she was just looking for an excuse to wear her jammies to work. I love that this kit has Halloween colors, but in a bright cheerful manner.

Next up is Cole as a mime. He really wanted to be a mime and he was so cute doing his box routine...of course he had to explain the routine to you, just in case you didn't understand what a mime was.

The frame cluster I used on that last layout is my freebie too you. I tried to make it something anyone could use. The image is linked, so just click and download. And as always I love hearing from you, so don't hesitate to leave comments.

I hope you enjoy and you should check out Andrea's Blog for her freebie as well as my the others on her CT team. And then head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Nothin’ But Treats. It also has a cardstock pack and an add-on.

Happy Wednesday all, today I'm going to show you layouts I made with a new collaboration kit by Scrappin' Daisies Designs and Marni Designs and it is called Divalicious. It is a perfect kit for any of your diva pictures whether they be young or old. A great mix of elements and paper make this a must have kit.

My layouts today focus on the Diva in my life...Ms. Callie. My first one is from her getting her hair done. I love the look on her face in this photo and I thought it worked perfectly with the hairstyling elements.

My second layout is her posing with her shoes. She does like shoes. I love the dress up elements of this kit and thought they went well with this photo.

So make sure you head over to Brownie Scraps and pick up Divalicious this week because it is on sale until next Tuesday.

Halloween Hoopla and Freebie

I know, two posts in one I don't have a fever. But Nicole of Digi-designs by Nicole has a new kit this week called Halloween Hoopla and she has just put it into the store. I thought I'd go ahead and post my layout and freebie today and maybe tomorrow I can do another catch up post.

This is a great Halloween kit, it is dark and scary (ok maybe not really scary) but I love the dark colors in the kit, especially the purple. Since it is a scarier kit I dug out some old photos I had from my last job. One of the sales department was very creative and had a very creepy theme in 2008. The were zombies and they really had the looks down pat. I love my new job, but I do miss working with creative people like this group. They have such wonderful imaginations.

I also did a freebie for you with the kit. It is a cluster frame and I decided not to make it scary, that way if you're not into that side of Halloween you could use it for a fall pumpkin photo. You should also check out Nicole's blog because she has a freebie as well, and probably one or two of my other CT members. The image is linked so just click and download, and as always I'd love to hear from any of you about the freebie.

And as always Nicole has put the kit, matching cardstock pack and quick page on sale for 30% off until October 31st. So make sure you head over and pick up Halloween Hoopla soon!!!

So Much to Show You

Ok this is going to be another huge post, because I'm creating layouts much faster than I am posting here, so they are getting backed up something fierce. Today the layouts are going to be from various places, but most will be challenges I've done.

I'm going to start off with one that has been in my backlog forever, I did it as a speed scrap over at GingerScraps and never showed it to you. I think because the subject is giraffes and not someone I know. I got the photos when Sharla, Cole and I went up to Arbuckle Wilderness one year on Christmas break.

Yeah my oldest non published layout is off of my to show list. Next up is a layout I did with Modern June's portion of the August Build a Kit at Digital Scrapbook Mania. I love the colors in the kit. The photo is Zoey giving Sharla kisses.

Next up is one I did for Stuff to Scrap's Word of the Week Challenge. The work was lazy and I knew right away what photo I wanted to use, Sharla and Cooper "napping". This is Let's Get Together by Scrap N Pieces, and I love this kit.

I'm on a roll with my older layouts, so here is another one I did for a speed scrap at DSM. It features Tucker Joe watching while I get ready for work. He much prefers the days when I stay home, because he likes to have someone to lay down with him. This I used is called Dusty Rose by Modern June.

Now for a layout I did for a font challenge at Polka Dot Plum. The kit is Monkeying Around by Victoria Feemster and as soon as I saw it, I knew I would use a photo of Sharla. Daddy called her Monkey, all of her life, even when she was grown, so of course I had to use her.

I did the next layout for the Use it or Lose it challenge at Stuff to Scrap. They give you a mini kit and you have to use all of it on your layout. Sometimes this is easy and sometimes it is not. I like this one because there were not too many papers and elements.

Modern June's contribution to the September Build a Kit at DSM was beautiful and I really enjoyed using it for this layout. The photo is Callie opening her birthday present several years ago, it was just what she can tell by the look on her face.

This layout I'm sure looks a little odd, but the challenge was to photograph a body part (no face or head shots allowed). So I did Zoey's big feet. Bless her princess heart she had whopper feet!!!. The I used is Lil Fella by Graham Like the Cracker and Wyld Web Designs.

Next up is a layout I did for a color challenge. It was birthday month at PDP and all the challenges were focusing on birthdays and so I did one of Cole after we silly stringed him. This was when he was in the 6th grade, after his school concert. We had him believing we were not going to be able to get him because there was too much going on...fooled him!!!

Another birthday challenge was the one word challenge and you had to use the word "celebrate" in your title or journaling. So again I pick Cole and silly string, but this one was from this year. It is getting harder and harder to surprise the boy (ok he's 17 but still a boy to me). But I think we got him this year. Hid our car in his garage and then we hid in his dad's shop. Both of these layouts were made with Kalo's Designs kit called Celebrate.

I rarely do two page layouts, not really sure why. I didn't really do them when I paper scrapped, so I don't do them when I digi scrap. But there was a template challenge at PDP that was a two pager. I used a kit by Sir Scrapsalot called Spring Symphony and the photos were taken at a local iris garden. I love irises and this place has some really beautiful ones.

Now for a layout I did with Secret Stash's Happy in my Heart kit. The photos are Cooper a couple of days before he was to be groomed. He was definitely a fuzzy face. It didn't help that he had been rolling in the grass, so his hair was sticking out on end. This was a template challenge and I really like how it looks.

I know many of you think the greatest contribution to the world in 1960 was me...yeah I know I'm old. The all about me challenge had us pull things that happened the year we were born. I think my favorite things were Green Eggs and Ham was written and the Etch-a-Sketch was invented...yeah I'm not an overly political person. But it was fun looking up different facts.

Ok the last one for this post is a layout I almost didn't do. I was to post on Scrappin' Daisies blog on a Monday, which is free day and I couldn't figure out what to post. I was going through the challenges at Brownie Scraps and found the indulgence challenge. I loved the mini kit they gave us to use. And in a very short time I had this layout of Tucker.

That is it for now but I have designers releasing kits almost everyday this week, so there will definitely be more to see (plus a freebie on Friday). See ya'll soon.

Costumed Cuties

Happy Wednesday all, I hope you're experiencing wonderful Fall weather, I know I'm loving it. After a long hot summer, the cooler weather just makes me want to snuggle up with Tucker and read (he likes that too...hehehe). This morning I had Tucker on one side and Cooper on the other, and it was so hard to get up and going. But I did. It is supposed to be warm the rest of the week, but the highs will only be in the 80's and I like that.

Today I'm going to show you layouts I made with a kit by Scrapalicious Cereal called Costumed Cuties and Costumed Cuties Add-on. I love this kit because it celebrates Halloween in a non scary fashion. I've always loved the holiday, but I hate the scary side of it and always have. So when I got to work with a kit that is full of the sweet side of Halloween I was thrilled.

My first layout is Callie playing dress up. She loved to play with clothes, shoes, and hats....wait she still does. I love that the kit has the traditional oranges but also pinks, blues and greens.

My second layout is of a former co-worker and dear friend. She looked wonderful in the costume, but it was just a little hot. I didn't have a single witch photo in my photos of the kid or the photos from work over the I got as close as possible (hehehe).

Make sure you head over to Stuff to Scrap and pick up Costumed Cuties before the 14th because it is on sale for 40% off and Costumed Cuties Add-on is FREE! I'll be back later this week with more!!!!

Birthday Girl & Freebie

Happy Monday morning all, and no it is not my birthday, but Scraps by Andrea has a wonderful new kit called Birthday Girl and it perfect for your girlie birthday pictures plus to much more. I love the color combination and the elements are a wonderful mix, that work for lots of different types of layouts.

My first layout is of Mom. The photo was from 2005 and she was not happy about posing for the photo because her scar was still very visible, but we insisted. I love the Happy Birthday banner and just had to use it.

My second layout shows the versatility of the kit. I didn't do a birthday a layout, instead I did a layout of Zoey. We were sitting outside enjoying the mild fall weather and Zoey jumped up in Sharla's lap and I snapped a few photos. I know I cut Sharla out of this one, but she preferred that because she wasn't photo ready. I love the pink, purple and green color combination of this kit, it is one of my favorites.

I love the second layout so much that I decided to make a quick page for you using it. I hope you like it and feel free to leave a comment, I love hearing from other scrappers. The image is linked, so simply click on it to download.

Make sure you stop by Stuff to Scrap and pick up Birthday Girl because it is on sale for 32% off this week. Also her entire store is on sale as is her birthday week!!!

And I'll be back soon with some layouts to show you.
